The personal statement is required by all applicants for Grades 6-12. The essay should be hand-written and consist of a short autobiography and a statement of the student's hopes and plans for the future, especially what is expected to gain from an American school experience in general, and from ACS Athens in particular. This is a good way of introducing him/herself to the school, so please he/she should express him/herself clearly and meaningfully.
