College Placement

ACS Athens is very proud of the student success rate in terms of university placement. Whether students choose to study in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or other universities around the world, students are very well prepared to meet academic challenges beyond high school.

College Acceptance rates are definitely something to be proud of due to the excellent academic preparation students acquire. An important factor in their acceptances is the success with which students are matched with universities that best suit them. Beginning in Middle School, students are informed about university requirements and many choose to participate in the Johns' Hopkins program. Within the 9th & 10th grade Research Extended Learning program, students learn more about university requirements, begin more intense preparation for standardized testing, take part in career search programs and learn to do internet research for universities that appeal to them according to what they intend to study. In 11th grade the process becomes more individualized, as students, meet in small groups with their college advisor to make choices and begin the college application process. Workshops on essay writing, interviewing, testing, etc. are also available to students. The university application process is a team effort and students receive much support during their rigorous journey.
